Rose M. Lackmann-Zimmerman

Rose Marie DiAllesandro was born to Michael and Julia (Azzinnaro) DiAllesandro on June 7, 1932, in Dilworth, MN, where she grew up and graduated from high school. After graduation, Rose attended North Dakota State University, Fargo, ND.

On September 26, 1952, Rose married Richard Lackmann and they made their home in rural Moorhead, MN, where they farmed. Rose also worked part-time as a secretary for the City of Moorhead Street Department. In 1985, Rose and Richard retired from farming and they moved to their lake home on Little Pelican Lake and spent their winters in Arizona. Richard died on April 12, 1987.

On July 27, 2000, Rose married Billy Zimmerman in Fairmont, MN. They continued to spend winters in Arizona and summers at Little Pelican Lake. Rose was active in the Pelican Lake Association. She enjoyed golfing, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren. She also loved to work in her yard and she belonged to a garden club.

Rose died peacefully on Tuesday, June 14, 2005, at her lake home on Little Pelican Lake, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley, at the age of 73.

Rose is survived by her husband, Billy, Detroit Lakes, MN; a daughter, Kathy Lackmann, Chino Valley, AZ; two sons, Richard Lackmann Jr., Tucson, AZ, and Kurt (Deb) Lackmann, Moorhead; a sister, Katherine McGinnis, Dilworth; three brothers, Donald (Barb) DiAllesandro, Wetumpka, AL, Angelo DiAllesandro, Dilworth, and Louis (Gayle) DiAllesandro, Phoenix, AZ; and five grandchildren, Amber, Michael, Alec, Mollie, and Jeffrey. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Michael DiAllesandro.


Visitation: Thursday from 6 to 8 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Funeral Service: Friday (6/17/05) at 11 AM in Cormorant Lutheran Church, Lake Park, MN.
Interment: Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead
