Rose M. Tweten

January 28, 1946 — August 12, 2009

Rose Mary Tweten, age 63, Glyndon, MN, died Wednesday, August 12, 2009, surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Rose Mary Steffes was born January 28, 1946, in Worthington, MN, to Theodore and Bernadine (Huerkamp) Steffes. As a young girl, the family moved to Glyndon where Rose graduated from Glyndon High School in 1964. She then attended Dakota Business College and worked from 1965 to 1969 as a bookkeeper at Production Credit.
On July 2, 1966, Rose married Micheal Tweten in Moorhead, MN. They made their home on the family farm in rural Glyndon where Rose lovingly raised their four children. In 1990, Rose returned to work as a para-professional for the Glyndon School District. She retired from there in 2000.
More than words can describe, Rose enjoyed the beauty and tranquility of the farm. Rose loved to watch Mike in the garden. Rosie's passion was cooking, traveling, and bird watching. Her specialty was to lend a listening ear and comforting words. Rose inspired all those around her to be a better person. Her greatest joys were her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Micheal; children, Darin and Kerri Tweten and their children, Megan, Jacob, Sydney, and Quinn; Scott and Stacey Popkin and their children, Zachary and Samantha; Eric and DesireÆ'Ve Tweten and their children, Danika, Micheal, and Payton; and Phillip Tweten; her mother, Bernadine Steffes; siblings, Joe and Mary Steffes, Dennis and Rita Callahan, David and Lorelei Arch, Loren and Marilyn Vanderwerff, and David and Sue Stone; a sister-in-law, Cheryl Steffes; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Theodore; and two brothers, Terry and Mark.
Visitation: Friday, from 6 PM - 8 PM, with a prayer service at 7:30 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Memorial Mass: Saturday, August 15, 2009, at 10:30 AM, in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Dilworth.
