Rose Marlene LaRock

Rose "Marlene" LaRock, 77, of Moorhead, MN, died Wednesday, June 29, 2016, in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Rose Marlene Stai was the second child born to Christ and Rose (Puhalla) Stai on July 15, 1938, in Mayville, ND. She moved to Felton, MN, as a child and graduated from Felton High School.
She was united in marriage to Rodney Eugene LaRock on November 9, 1957, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Felton. Three children were born of this union, Chadrick, Anthony, and Lynette. In 1959, the family settled in Moorhead, MN. Rodney was a television cameraman at WDAY in Fargo, until 1972. He then drove truck for Northern Improvement until his death in 1973. After his death, Marlene raised her three children with love, discipline, and care. She loved her family and worked to help her children succeed in life.

Marlene worked in the food service department at Moorhead State University, Moorhead, for many years before her retirement due to the need for a liver transplant. She was one of the first in the United States to receive a liver from a live donor, known as a "domino transplant." Her transplant was performed in 2003, and gave her 14 happy years of health to enjoy with family and friends. She loved to cook and was forever making tasty treats for her neighbors at Sharpview where she lived for the last 15 years. She had a great sense of humor and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She also enjoyed many summers in her camper at the lake with her mother and friends.

Marlene is survived by her three children, Chad (Jeana) LaRock, Jacksonville, FL, Anthony LaRock, Sabin, MN, and Lynette (Bob) Feakes, Hawley, MN; grandchildren, Jason (Tasha) Hagen, Daniel Feakes, Eric Feakes, and Gary (Jamie) Feakes; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sister, Delores Duenow.

A visitation for Rose will be Tuesday from 5 PM to 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, July 6, 2016, at 11 AM, in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Moorhead.

Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
