Roseanna M. Nolte, 81, Moorhead, MN, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, in Essentia Health in Fargo, ND. For the past year, Rosie was a resident of Villa Maria, Fargo.
Roseanna Marian Skillings, daughter of Lyle and Nellie (Rothwell) Skillings, was born March 1, 1930, in Ortonville, MN. She grew up and went to school near Poplar, MN. Rosie married Casper Hansen on Jan. 7, 1949, in Waterloo, Iowa. He died in 1954.
In 1955, Rosie married Roy Nolte, in Fairmont, MN. They moved to Moorhead in 1962, and Rosie worked at various dining establishments. In 1972, she started in the banquet department of the Holiday Inn of Fargo. She worked there for 37 years, and retired in 2009.
Rosie was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary and served as president in 1975. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, cooking, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Rosie is survived by three sons and three daughters, Gary (Cynthia) Nolte, Moorhead, Phillip (Lucinda) Nolte, Idaho Falls, Idaho, JoAnn (Steven) Christensen, Fargo, Charlene Vasquez, Moorhead, Dennis (Vonnie) Nolte, Moorhead, and Debra Anderson, Moorhead; two brothers and a sister, Robert (Marilyn) Skillings, Vergas, MN, Fern Lenz, Fairmont, MN, and Richard (Pat) Skillings, Evansville, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Casper Hansen; her parents; and her son-in-law, Daniel Vasquez.
The family would like to thank the angels at Villa Maria and the Sanford Dialysis Center for all their loving care and support.
Visitation: Thursday, 5 PM to 8 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Funeral: Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, at 11 AM, First Assembly of God, Fargo.
Burial: Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
