Rosine Marie Brandell was born July 6, 1906, in Great Bend, ND, to John and Louise (Hoefs) Brandell. In 1908, the family moved to a farm south of Lidgerwood, ND, and then to Claire City, SD, in 1913, where she attended school.
Rosine married Oscar K. Olson in Sisseton, SD, Sept. 26, 1924, and they lived in Claire City as well as Hammer, SD. They had six children. In 1946, the family moved to Wellsburg, ND. As a result of an accident, Oscar died June 25, 1950. Rosine moved her family to Sisseton, where she worked at Tekawitha Hospital, Boyd's Café, and American Legion. She lived there until 1974, when she married Herman Bredow and they moved to Mesa, AZ. Herman died Nov. 10, 1976. Rosine remained in Mesa until moving to Moorhead, MN, in 1998. She made her home in Eventide Catered Living. Rosine enjoyed cooking and baking and sharing her desserts with family and friends. In Jan. of 2004, Rosine moved to Eventide Lutheran Home where she passed away Wed., Oct. 27, 2004, at ninety-eight years of age.
Rosine is survived by her two daughters, Marion Tilden, Seattle, WA, and Dianne (Duane) Gilbertson, Moorhead; two sons, James (Dorothy) Olson, Watertown, SD, and Gerald (Phlayne) Olson, Menomonie, WI; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her two husbands and parents, Rosine was preceded in death by two daughters, Karen Stansbury of Spokane, WA, and Lois Jean Wannop of Mesa, AZ; two great-granddaughters, one great-grandson; two brothers; and three sisters.
Her funeral will be Sun., Oct. 31, 2004, at 1:30 PM, in Bottolfson Chapel, Eventide Lutheran Home. Burial will be Sunday at 5 PM, in Norway Lutheran Cemetery, near Claire City, SD.
