Ross D. Fox, 51, Fargo, ND, was found Sunday, July 31, 2005, in the Red River, Moorhead, MN.
Ross Duncan Fox, known to his family and friends as "R.D.", was born February 21, 1954, in Fargo, to Clarence and Thelma (Frey) Fox. R.D. was raised and educated in Moorhead.
R.D. entered the US Coast Guard, in Petaluma, CA, in 1974. He served on a Coast Guard cutter in New York City and in Florida. He met his wife, Sally, who also served in the Coast Guard. Following his discharge in 1978, R.D. received further training and worked with heavy equipment in Florida.
R.D. served as a firefighter with the Fargo Fire Department from 1981 until the early 1990's. He then worked on a shrimp boat as a commercial fisherman in Alaska. R.D. returned to live in Fargo where he worked in various occupations.
R.D. is survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma.
Visitation: Friday, August 5, 2005; one hour before the funeral.
Funeral: Friday, August 5, 2005; 2 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Burial: Riverside Cemetery; Glyndon, MN.
