Ruth Haglund

November 26, 1914 — February 12, 2012

Ruth H. Haglund, age 97, of Moorhead, MN, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, in Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.
Ruth Weiss, the daughter of William and Tina (Mostue) Weiss, was born Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26, 1914, near Erhard, MN. She grew up and received her education in the Erhard area.
On Easter Sunday, March 24, 1940, Ruth was united in marriage to H. Elmer Haglund. They farmed near Pelican Rapids until 1966 when they moved to Moorhead.
After Elmer's death on March 8, 1990, Ruth continued to live in Moorhead. In 1994 she moved to an apartment in the Eventide Living Center, and in 2010 she moved to Golden Living Center.


While living near Pelican Rapids, Elmer and Ruth were members of Zion Lutheran Church. After coming to Moorhead, they became members of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. Through the years, Ruth was active in many church activities including Ladies Aid, teaching Sunday school, quilting, and serving as a hostess and greeter. At Eventide, she participated in Bible study, chapel services and sang in the Chapel Choir. Ruth lived a life of sacrifice for others and thrived when she was able to work hard and serve those around her.
Ruth is survived by her two children, Roger (Margaret) Haglund, Moorhead, and Helen (David) McCormack, Minot, ND; a sister, Louella Estenson, Fergus Falls, MN; a brother, Harold (Inez) Weiss, Erhard; and three grandchildren, David (Debra) Haglund, and Pau
Visitation: Thursday, 5 - 7 PM with Prayer Service at 7 PM, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.


Funeral: Friday, February 17, 2012, 11 AM, Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead.


Burial: Zion Lutheran Cemetery, rural Pelican Rapids, MN.
