Ruth O. Anderegg

Ruth O. Anderegg, 82, formerly of Grandin, ND, died Wednesday, March 8, 2006, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN.

Ruth was born in Averill, MN, May 27, 1923, to Alfred and Olava Berg. Ruth's family lived in several communities, including Lakota, ND, Perley, MN, and Moorhead, while her father worked for the Great Northern Railroad. She graduated from Moorhead High School in 1941, and graduated as a registered nurse from St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing in 1944.
Ruth served as a lieutenant in the US Army Nurses Corps, during WW II, which included working at Manila's General Hospital in the Philippines. After discharge from the army, she returned to Fargo, ND, and worked at St. Lukes.
On September 15, 1951, Ruth married Joseph L. Anderegg in Moorhead. She raised their three children and assisted with the farming operation on their farm near Grandin. After her husband's death, Ruth moved to Fargo in 1983, where she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Sons of Norway. She traveled extensively and enjoyed the company of her family and friends.

Ruth is survived by her three children, Lee Ann (Mark) Stenberg, of Moorhead, Mary Jo (Stephen) Basol, of Fargo, and Kim (David) Jones of Grand Forks, ND; her sister, Adeline (Joseph) Miller of Yelm, WA; and her four grandchildren, Stephanie and Matthew Basol and Kate and Patrick Jones.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Bjorgild; her brother, Herbert; and her husband, Joseph, who died in 1978.
