Ruth Paul

Ruth Eldora Pearson was born September 23, 1935 in Pelican Rapids, MN, to Elmer and Minnie Pearson. She grew up at Pearson's Resort on Stony Bar and graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1953.


Ruth worked in Fargo, ND, for a number of years and married John "Jack" Paul on September 10, 1959, in Fargo. They had three daughters, Jackie Paul and Jane Paul, both Moorhead, MN, and Janet Paul Rice, Fargo.


Ruth was an avid Minnesota Twins fan. Her shrine of team artifacts far outnumbers photos of her children and grandchildren. She was happy to see the spring training game last Sunday, but was still mad later that night that the Twins had lost to the Yankees, 5-1.


Ruth also enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandson, baking, bingo, dancing and old-time music. She died Thursday, March 19, 2009, after a long illness.


Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sister, Margaret Prim; brothers, Merle Pearson, John Pearson and Robert Pearson; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. She is survived by her daughters; son-in-law, David Rice; grandchildren, Lyndsey Paul and Ethan Mabus; great-grandson, Anthony Cardos; sisters, Becky (Don) Perkins, Boulder City, NV, Helen Motschenbacher, Moorhead, and Louise Schultz, Fergus Falls, MN; sisters-in-law, Avis Pearson, Moorhead, and Sonja Pearson, Pelican Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
