Samuel R. Jacobson, 51, of Dilworth, MN, died Sunday, July 17, 2016, in his home.

Samuel Raymond Jacobson was born, August 21, 1964, the son of Arden and Helen (Emo) Jacobson, in Jamestown, ND. He lived with his family in California before settling in the Chicagoland area of Illinois, where he graduated from Johnsburg High School. After graduation he attended McHenry County Community College in Crystal Lake, IL and Illinois State University.

In 1996, Sam moved to Dilworth where he had since made his home. Sam was always a helping hand and of a giving heart to all who knew him. Sam's kindness was unequaled, he would do anything for anyone in need. Sam was recognized for his volunteerism over the years, and was cared for his ailing father over the past few years.

Sam had a passion for music, mathematics, reading and the arts. He could play the guitar and taught his siblings many songs in their childhood. In his youth, Sam loved to camp, ride long distance by bike, and enjoyed nature.

He is survived by his parents, Arden and Helen; sisters, Theresa (Warren) Hannula, and their children, Mitchell, Kelsey, Jessica and Tiffany, and Julie (John) Doherty, and their children Regan and Shea and Joe's two surviving children, Jonathon and Jasmine.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Joe, in 2011.

A Gathering of Friends will be one hour prior to Samuel's service.

His Memorial Service will be Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at 1:00 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
