Sandra Buzick passed on to an eternal life free of pain on December 16, 2013, at the age of 72. Her last few days were spent like all her favorite times, surrounded by a tribe of extended family.
She was born in Hendrum, MN, on July 30, 1941, to Arnold and Mae Semling. She later moved to Moorhead, MN, to attend Central Junior and Moorhead Senior High School. Sandra played saxophone in the band and worked at the Fargo Theatre. There, she caught the eye of a handsome young moviegoer, Burton Buzick. She married him in 1959.
In their 54 years of marriage, they filled their home with three kids, fast-moving motorized vehicles and lots of love. Sandra helped her husband build a business, worked full-time and was in the front row of every school program, sporting event, band concert and theatre production.
As her kids grew, she became a confidant and friend to her three children, son-in-law and daughter-in-law. She was the president of the fan clubs for each of her four granddaughters in their various activities. She holds the title of favorite aunt and good friend. If you knew Sandra, you knew you were loved.
Sandra was known for her masterful sewing skills, over 30 years of ringing handbells and great taste in fashion and home decor. Moreover, she was known for a saucy sense of humor and for making everyone around her feel like they were the most important person in the world.
Sandra's legacy is her unwavering faith in God. She taught us how to live by demonstrating what it's like to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Through church and through participation in Bible Study Fellowship (BSF), Sandra became a committed student of God's word until her last days.
Her extravagant Christmas gift this year to friends and family is an overabundance of memories to last a lifetime.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Burton; three children, Brian (Clem) Buzick, Carey (fianceé, Sarah Groves) Buzick, and Brenda (Phil) Ostlie; granddaughters, Chelce (Ben) Detert, Cinder Buzick, McCall (fiancé, Tucker Sears) Ostlie, and Olivia Ostlie; sister, Marlene (Dick) Olson; and many in-laws and other relatives.
