Sarah Edna Wollschlaeger was born November 25, 1916, to Fred and Ella (Coulter) Wollschlaeger, in Dawson, ND, where she grew up and received her education.
As a young woman, Sarah moved to Fargo, ND, and worked in the area. It was in Fargo that she met her loving husband-to-be, Chester Johnson. They married on October 18, 1936, in Moorhead, MN, and they made their home in Fargo. Sarah was a homemaker and devoted mother to their daughter, Sandra.
On April 30, 1977, Chester died and Sarah continued to make her home in Fargo. In February of 2004, Sarah became a resident of Bethany Homes where she died on Wednesday, January 26, 2005, at the age of eighty-eight.
Sarah was an active member of her church, Bethel Evangelical Free. She enjoyed cooking, was a collector of many things and she was also very fond of the color red. Sarah adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sarah is survived by a daughter, Sandra Glenn, Cocoa, FL; three grandchildren, Sheila (Robert) Scherff, Cocoa, Kevin (Sharon) Shaw, Merritt Island, FL, and Jeri (Steven) Snyder, Orlando, FL; six great-grandchildren, Monica, Lauren, Ian, Jennifer, Kathleen, and Elizabeth; and two brothers, Lester (Eileen) Wollschlaeger, Montana, and Roy Wollschlaeger, Bismarck, ND. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.
