Selvin "Sel" Nygard Jr.

Selvin "Sel" Lars Nygard, Jr. 86, son of Selvin and Elizabeth (Sigette) Nygard, was born April 23, 1932, in McVille, ND, and died Wednesday, April 17, 2019, under the wonderful care of Hospice of the Red River Valley and the staff at Ecumen Evergreens in Moorhead, MN.

Selvin graduated from McVille High School and later joined the US Air Force during the Korean War. In 1956, he married Marlyce Haugen and moved to Fargo, ND. Together they had two children. They divorced in 1988. He worked at Bell Telephone, owned and operated the Jamestown Ambulance service, and finished his career as a carpenter near Frazee, MN. Sel loved to start projects.

Selvin is survived by his son, Larry (June) Nygard, Fargo; daughter, Linda (Kevin) Mickelson, Perham, MN; and five grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 6 PM, with a funeral at 7 PM, Tuesday, April 23, 2019, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. A reception will follow. A private family burial will be held in McVille, at a later date.

Memorials are preferred to Valley Christian Counseling Center, Fargo.
