Sharon Le Edenstrom Heuer, 65, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at 10:30 am at The Lutheran Church of Christ the King, 1900 S. 14th St., Moorhead, MN 56560. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm on Tuesday, April 17, also at The Lutheran Church of Christ the King. Interment will be at Eagle Valley Cemetery in Christine, ND. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to donors' favorite charities in Sharon's name.
Sharon was born January 24th, 1947, the daughter of Genevieve Edenstrom at St. Ansgar Hospital in Moorhead. She attended Wolverton Elementary and graduated from Breckenridge High School. Over the years, Sharon was employed by Wolverton Elementary, State Farm Insurance, Clay County Social Services, and Herbergers. Her last position was as the beloved Activities Director at Park View Terrace assisted living facility in Moorhead. She retired in 2008.
On July 30, 2000, Sharon married Dr. Charles Heuer, a retired Concordia College mathematics professor, at the White House Chapel in Kragnes, MN. They lived in south Moorhead and enjoyed frequent travel to Florida, New Mexico, and many other destinations. She took pride in having visited all fifty U.S. states. Besides travel, Sharon's hobbies included sketching, sewing, gardening, knitting, baking, and jigsaw puzzles. She also greatly enjoyed lunch, 'pie day' and coffee with her many friends, as well as entertaining the dear neighbor girls next door.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Charles; her mother, Genevieve McElhose, of Socorro, NM; her sisters, Sheila (Layne) Lewis of Socorro and Dawn (Laray) Watson of Springdale, AR; nieces, Karissa (Scott) McDaniel, Alexis (Jeremy) Jojola, Lyndsey Lewis, and Jilayne Lewis; nephews, Talon McElhose and Colten Lewis; stepsons, Stephen Heuer (Candice Sullivan), Leander, TX, and Robert Heuer, Seattle, WA; stepdaughters, Sally Heuer (Cynthia Reuss), Minneapolis, MN, and Nancy Heuer, Eagan, MN; and two great-nieces, Ashlie and Haylie.
Sharon was preceded in death by her grandmother, Ella Edenstrom; her uncle, Walter Edenstrom; and her stepfather, Marvin McElhose.
