Sharon M. Rein, 57, of Moorhead, MN, died Friday, August 14, 2020, in her home under the care of Sanford Hospice surrounded by her loving family.
Sharon Marie Klinkhammer was born October 21, 1962, the daughter of Gerald and Theresa (Klein) Klinkhammer in Fosston, MN. She grew up on a farm near Beaulieu, MN, and loved to be outside working with her dad. In 1981, she graduated from Mahnomen (MN) High School and later attended Thief River Falls Vocational and Technical College in Thief River Falls, MN. Sharon lived in Beaulieu for many years and worked as the high school secretary at Mahnomen High School until 1996 when she moved to Moorhead.
On April 26, 1997, she was united in marriage to Mike Rein at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Beaulieu. They made their home in Moorhead where she pursued a variety of positions at Moorhead High School before becoming the administrative assistant to the principal for the last 12 years. Sharon retired in January 2020.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Moorhead where sang in the Adult Choir and was a member of the Christian Mothers and Catholic Daughters. She was also a member of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) organization. Sharon enjoyed watching her daughter dance, her son play softball, watching Minnesota Wild hockey games with her family and making prayer shawls for others in need.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Mike; her children, Theresa and Cole, both of Moorhead; sister, Geri (Duane) Voit, Dilworth, MN; adopted mother, Helen Spaeth, Mahnomen, MN; close family friends, Darrel and Kris Slette, Hawley, MN; mother-in-law, Tina Rein, West Fargo, ND; sisters-in-law, Pat (Dan) Geraghty, Moorhead, and Terri (Kirk) Rueb, Ashley, ND; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Theresa (Klein) Klinkhammer; and father-in-law, Mike Rein.
Visitation for Sharon will be from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, Thursday, August 20, 2020, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead. Visitation will continue at 10 AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM, in the church, Friday, August 21, 2020. Burial will take place in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
Current CDC guidelines will be followed for the visitation, prayer service and Mass as social distancing and masks will be required.
