Shirley C. Olson, 79, Moorhead, MN, died Sunday, June 22, 2008, at her home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.
Shirley Corrine Rognlie was born May 23, 1929, in Traill County, ND, to Clarence and Florence (Dvergsten) Rognlie. She graduated from Halstad (MN) High School and then from Sister's of St. Joseph's School of Nursing, Fargo, ND, as a registered nurse.
In 1950, Shirley married Harold Olson in Minneapolis, MN. They moved several times making their home in Minneapolis, the Fargo area and in Halstad. They have been living in the Moorhead area for the last forty years.
Shirley loved to bowl, crochet, knit, embroider and cook. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed music, playing the piano and accordion. Most important to Shirley was her family and she often played games with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Harold, Moorhead; five children, Kathryn (Wayne) Stark, Denver, CO, Keith Olson, Halstad, Wayne "Tom" (Sherre) Olson, West Fargo, ND, Julie Swanson, West Fargo, and Dean (Kristi) Olson, Eden Prairie, MN; ten grandchildren;
Visitation: Saturday from 9 - 10 AM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Memorial Service: Saturday at 10 AM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel.
Burial: South Halstad Lutheran Cemetery, Halstad.
