Signe C. Anderson, 84, Fargo, ND, died Monday, May 30, 2011, in Sanford Health, Fargo.
Signe Clara Larson was born October 14, 1926, in Wadena, MN, the daughter of Myrtle (Ousley) and Carl Frederick Larson. She graduated from Bertha (MN) High School, and attended the Minnesota School of Business, from which she graduated in 1946. She moved to Rochester, MN, where she worked as a medical secretary at the Mayo Clinic. She met Kenneth Jud Anderson and was married on February 4, 1950.
Signe and Kenneth moved to Wahpeton, ND, in 1964, where he became an Electrical Technology Instructor at the North Dakota State School of Science. Signe was a homemaker, raised her family, held part-time secretarial jobs and learned to drive a car in Wahpeton.
After Ken's retirement, they moved to Heilberger Lake in 1986. They both loved the lake and lived there 12 years before moving into Fergus Falls, MN. After Ken's death in 2000, Signe moved to Moorhead, MN. She has been a resident of Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo, since 2004. The family expresses their thanks to the excellent Rosewood staff.
Signe liked to fish, camp, spend time at the lake, listen to music, garden, and be with her family. She loved all cats! She eagerly anticipated each visit with grandchildren.
Signe was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; brother, Oliver Larson; and sister, Marion Beving. She is survived by three daughters, Renee (Dennis) Arcand, Marine-on-St.-Croix, MN, Lynn (James) Iverson, Moorhead, and LeeAnn (Greg) DeCola, New Hope, MN; and four grandchildren, Naomi and Nathan Arcand, and Alan and Tyler Iverson.
Visitation: Thursday, 5 PM to 7 PM, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead
Funeral service: Friday, June 3, 2011, at 1 PM, Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead
Burial: Tonseth Cemetery, Erhard, MN
