Signe C. Larson

Signe Christine Larson peacefully ended her journey on earth Friday, February 2. 2007, at Sunnyside Care Center in Lake Park, Minnesota. She was born February 22, 1917, in Woodworth, North Dakota to William and Maria (Erickson) Rosell. The family soon moved to Dale, Minnesota where she grew up, attended country school and learned to love the Lord at Eksjo Lutheran Church. She graduated valedictorian of her high school class in Lake Park, Minnesota.
She attended Business College in Fargo, ND, and worked as bookkeeper at the Lake Park Creamery. She married Jesse Larson on January 5, 1941, at Dale, MN. At that time they moved to the Larson family farm south of Moorhead, MN, where they lived, farmed and raised their family. Signe was an active member of Hoff Lutheran Church, Rustad, MN, serving as treasurer for the church, the women's group and the Sunday school at one time or another. She taught Sunday school for many years and took great pride and interest in her students, asking about them, long after they had grown to be adults. She loved to serve and work in the background. She was an excellent cook. You could never leave her home without a cup of coffee and a "little lunch", and if you were really lucky, one of her fresh doughnuts.
Signe worked as a bookkeeper for Big Valley Eggs and Myhro Poultry farms until she retired. Jesse died in 2001, and she continued to live on the family farm, until 2004 when she entered Sunnyside Care Center in Lake Park where she was lovingly cared for until her death.
Signe is survived by her two sons; Jesse (Roxanne) Moorhead, Robert (Leslie) Wolverton, MN; eight grandchildren; five great grand children; one sister, Mabel Rustad, Hawley, MN; one brother-in-law, Harold Anderson, Fargo; and many special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jesse; one grandson Robbie; two brothers, Art & Carl; four sisters, Esther, Anna, Francis and Margaret.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday, February 7, 2006 - 11:00 AM, in Hoff Lutheran Church, Rustad, MN.
INTERMENT: Moorhead Memorial Gardens, Moorhead, MN.
