Signe J. Bourcy, 94, Moorhead, MN, died Wednesday, October 27, 2010, in Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead.

Signe Josephine Engquist was born November 20, 1915, to Alvin and Hilda (Olson) Engquist in Herman, MN, where she grew up and received her education.

On October 4, 1933, Signe married Wayne Bourcy in Donnelly, MN, where they made their home. They lived in several other towns in Minnesota, before making their home in Moorhead.

Signe started selling Avon around 1960 and continued to do so until 2005. She enjoyed baking and canning and canned hundreds of quarts of fruit sauces every fall. Signe baked fresh bread everyday while busy raising her children. She was especially known for her outstanding caramel rolls. Signe was also an avid fan of the MN Twins from their inception in 1961.

Signe was a charter member and was very active at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, belonging to the choir, various Circles, and with the library guild where she served as treasurer for many years. She was also a member of the Degree of Honor Lodge and the L
Signe is survived by six children, Duainne (Paula) Bourcy, Marlys McCrehin, Arlo (Arlene) Bourcy, Jim (Donna) Bourcy, Lyle Bourcy, and Debbie (Dale) Klein; twenty-six grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; and twenty-one great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation: Friday from 5 - 7 PM with a Prayer Service at 7 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
Funeral: Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 2 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
Burial: Moorhead Memorial Gardens.
