Stephen (Steve) O. Skedsvold, 55, of Moorhead, MN, died Saturday, September 24, 2011, surrounded by family and friends in his home.
Stephen Obert Skedsvold, son of Obert and Dolores Skedsvold, was born in Williston, ND, on August 22, 1956. Following graduation from New Town High School, Steve served his country in the US Coast Guard from August 1974 to July 1978. After his military service, Steve worked in the oil fields of western ND. Steve advanced his education by receiving degrees from both UND-Williston in 1985 and North Dakota State School of Science in 1987.
Steve married Susan L. Reierson on August 12, 1989. He was a devoted husband and loving father to their sons.
Steve worked in the construction and building industry in Virginia, Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. The past 10 years Steve worked for Lavelle Company, Fargo, ND, and during that time he became a Senior Certified Specialist for DuPont Building Innovations.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Jonathan (Sarah), West Fargo, and Casey, Minot; brother, Daniel Skedsvold; sisters, Marylyn (Earl) Pierce, Anita (Tom) Decker, Marita (Kevin) Hauck, Melanie (Craig) Davis, Marianne (Mike) Montano; nieces; nephews; aunts; uncle; and cousins. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Obert and Dolores.
