Stephen P. Kline

Stephen Patrick Kline, 69, passed away November 11, 2010, at Triumph Hospital, Fargo, ND. Steve was born March 17, 1941, in Mason City, IA, to Daisy (Rutherford) and Joseph Kline. He married Eleanor Haedt May 26, 1962, at St. Mary's Cathedral, Fargo. Together they had four children (two sets of twins).

Steve grew up as the youngest of six children in Fargo. He attended St. Anthony grade school and graduated from Shanley High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from North Dakota State University and a Master of Music from the University of South Dakota. Steve was a band teacher and played drums in dance bands during his college years. During his teaching career, he taught at Hitterdal-Felton, MN, Leonard, ND, Frazee, MN, and Sioux Falls, SD.

Steve loved to read and had a library full of books. He was a fan of the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings and loved watching their ballgames. He had a great sense of humor and a quick wit.

Steve will be missed by his wife, Eleanor; daughter, Karen (Jim) Gemar, Moorhead, MN; sons, Timothy (Mara) Kline, Chandler, AZ, and Thomas Kline, Moorhead; brothers, John (Judy) Kline, Helena, MT, Jim (Dolores) Kline, Westlake Village, CA, and Thomas (Karen) Kline, Cedar Falls, IA; four grandsons, Christopher, Adam, Lukas and Aaron; and many nieces, nephews, friends and family. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karla; sister, Barbara Krieg; brother, Wesley Kline; and his parents.


Visitation: Monday from 5 - 7 with a Prayer Service at 7 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.


Funeral: Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at 11 AM in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead.


Burial: St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
