Stephen "Steve" Prieb

Stephen Loyl Prieb was born April 25, 1936, in Moorhead, MN, to Alfred and Charlotte (Timmerick) Prieb. Steve was raised on the family farm in Wilkin County where he attended rural schools.
Steve attended Wolverton High School and then entered the US Army during his senior year, at seventeen years of age. Following his discharge, he returned to the area and married Arlys Engen, in 1956. Steve earned a Bachelors degree and then a Masters degree in Mathematics from North Dakota State University, Fargo, ND.
They moved to California in 1962 and then to Big Lake, MN, in 1971. They lived in Big Lake from 1971 to 1975. Steve taught in Buffalo, MN, for a time and worked at Control Data, in Minneapolis, MN. Steve moved to Greenville, TX, in 1975.
While in Greenville, Steve met Laura Virginia Lilly, and they were married on August 18, 1978. Steve worked at E-Systems as a manager in their software development department. Since Steve was a pilot, he helped begin the flying club at E-Systems, which continues to grow to this day.
Steve retired in 1992, and he and Virginia moved to Franklin Lake, MN. They had been visiting in Sedona, AZ, when he died Friday, July 30, 2010, at seventy-four years of age.
Steve is survived by his wife, Virginia; a son, Richard (Jan) Prieb, Phoenix, AZ; four daughters, Dawn Riddle and Laurie (Steve) Mayton, both Flagstaff, AZ, Pam Wharton, Morton, MN, and Shelly Day, Merit, TX; thirteen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation for Steve will be one hour before the funeral.
The funeral will be Thursday, August 5, 2010, at 11:30 AM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, MN.
Burial will follow in Mitchell Township Cemetery, rural Wolverton, MN.
