Stevan A. Lemke

Stevan A. Lemke, 69, of Moorhead, MN, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022, in Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead.

Stevan Alan Lemke was born on August 1, 1952, to Loren and Dorothy (McGough) Lemke, in Moorhead. Stevan was raised and went to school in Moorhead, and later got his GED. Stevan enjoyed spending time at Moorhead Billiards playing pool and spending time with friends. He loved dogs, especially boxers, a few of which served as his service animal, as well as wonderful companions. Stevan was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ. He would often spend time there hanging out with other members and getting into deep conversations and debates.

Stevan had many struggles with his health throughout his life, including a lung transplant that added seven years to his life, and bladder cancer.

Stevan’s family would like to thank Hospice of the Red River Valley, including Nurse Terra and Stevan’s social worker Kylie, for their wonderful care through the hard times. They also want to thank Stevan’s friends from the South Shore Landing Apartments for their kindness and support they had for their friend Stevan.

Stevan is survived by his sons, Seth and Shane; step-daughter, Ashley (Chris) Young; siblings, Laurel (Jim) Sauvageau, Pam (Dave) Leiseth, and Greg (Mark Youngblood) Lemke; four nieces; three nephews; and his service dog, Cyrus.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Dorothy; brother, Larry; and service dog, Bosco.

Stevan’s Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 2 PM in first Congregational United Church of Christ, Moorhead, with a visitation one hour prior.
