Sylvia I. Granlund

Sylvia Ida Rieke was born April 21, 1932, to William and Julianna (Priewe) Rieke, in Erie, ND, and she grew up in Fargo, ND.

Sylvia married her life love, Norman Granlund, on November 17, 1951, in Fargo. They made their home in Moorhead, MN, from 1957 to 1976, when they moved to Dilworth, MN. They lived in Dilworth until 2010, when Norman entered Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead. In April of 2010, Sylvia moved to Eventide Assisted Living to be closer to Norman. Norman passed away on October 10, 2010.

Sylvia remained in Assisted Living until November of 2017, when she moved to Eventide Nursing Home, because of health issues. She passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018, at Eventide, at eighty-six years of age.

She is survived by her three daughters, Edna (Robert) Wentland, Boulder, CO, Naomi (Warren) Kluever, and Julie Hull, both Moorhead; two grandsons, Miles and Evan Wentland; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Eric; and a sister, Virginia.

Visitation will be from 2 PM to 3 PM, with a funeral at 3 PM, Thursday, May 3, 2018, in Bottolfson Chapel, Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
