Theresa "Tress" Rose Dawson

Theresa Rose (Siegel) Dawson, 92, Moorhead, MN, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017, in Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead, under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Theresa "Tress" was born September 14, 1924, to Peter and Anna (Huebner) Siegel, on the family farm near Glyndon, MN. After school, she worked at Fairmont Creamery in Moorhead where she met Don Dawson. Don and Tress were married September 15, 1946, in Fort Monmouth, NJ, before Don went to Korea. They were married for over sixty-six years.

They raised their four children in Moorhead where Don was a firefighter for the city of Moorhead. Tress was a stay-at-home mom who cooked, baked and sewed for her family. They would later enjoy the summer months at West McDonald Lake and the winter months in Apache Junction, AZ.

Tress is survived by her four children, Mary Jane (Larry) Heck, Brooklyn Center, MN, Ann Jean (Paul) Wibe, Hawley, MN, Ronald (JoAnne) Dawson, Hoschton, GA, and Donna Dawson, Moorhead; sister, Jane Hoppe, Milwaukee, WI; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Tress was loved and respected by many in-laws, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband. one sister and three brothers.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 24, 2017, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

The funeral mass will be Friday, August 25, 2017, at 11 AM, in St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Moorhead.

Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead.
