Thomas A. Lynn

Thomas A. Lynn, 69, died Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, at his home in Moorhead, MN, after a brief battle with cancer.

Tom was born April 2, 1941 in Fargo, ND, to Clair and Iva (Cassatt) Lynn. On June 3, 1960, he married his sweetheart, Carol Marie Lee. They raised their children, John and Ann, in Fargo. In 1974, they moved to West Fargo, ND. They returned to Fargo in 1981, and in 2008, they moved to Moorhead.

Tom spent over 50 years perfecting his work as an auto body specialist. He was self-taught, loved what he did, and earned the respect and admiration of all for his magnificent work. He spent his retirement years restoring antique vehicles. His pride and joy was his red 1953 Chevy pickup and a 1934 Ford that he restored in the sixties. He enjoyed taking the Chevy to Cruise Nights, showing it off and cruising Broadway with his sweetheart.

Tom had a passion for flying and some of his favorite times were flying his radio-controlled airplanes and the blimp in the Fargodome. He also enjoyed flying over the area in a Cessna with his son, John.

Vacations were spent traveling to his daughter Ann's house to see the mountains and help with home improvement projects. He was fondly referred to as "Mr. Fix-It".
Many of his happiest memories were times spent at the lake cabin with his family and friends. He spent many summers fishing with his buddy, Roy; drinking Pepsi and eating Lillian's lefse and chocolate chip cookies.
Tom is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Carol, Moorhead; son, John (Shelly) Lynn, Fargo; daughter, Ann Lynn, Loveland, CO; grandchildren, Tiffany, Lindsey, and Alexis; sister, Sandra (Pat) Sullivan, Chicopee, MA; and uncle, Elmer Cassatt, Valley City, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by Carol's parents, Roy and Lillian Lee.
