Thomas Edward Auger, age 64, Dilworth, MN, died Monday, August 15, 2011, in Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND.
Thomas Auger was born June 1, 1947, to Edward and Cecile (Dansereau) Auger, at Moorhead, MN.
Tom attended St. Joseph's Elementary School and graduated from Dilworth High School in 1966. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Physics with a Mathematics minor from the University of Minnesota in December 1970, and graduated from Moorhead Area Vocational Technical Institute in May 1974, with a two-year degree in Electronics Technology.
Tom was employed as a Junior Engineer on the Safeguard ABM System in Langdon, ND; as a service and maintenance technician in a photofinishing lab; and as a service technician and programmer for cash registers, point-of-sale systems and scanning systems.
In 1992, he married the love of his life Carol Aasen, in Moorhead. She died in March 1993, and Tom became a stay-at-home father with their child, Juliette Marie Auger.
Tom had many interests including classical music, his first language, French, genealogical research in the US and Canada, and electronics, especially working with tube radios. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Dilworth.
He is survived by his daughter, Juliette of Dilworth; brothers, Charles (Mary) of Bemidji, MN, and Don (Cindy Ostlie) of Brookings, SD; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Patricia Aasen of Aneta, ND; sisters-in-law Susan (Neil) Flom of Detroit Lakes, MN, Margaret (David) DeLano of Alpharetta, GA, and Elaine (Kip) Munford of Apollo Beach, FL; nephews, Jeffrey (Stacy) Flom, Fargo, Jim (Victoria) DeLano, Birmingham, AL, Paul (Bridget ) DeLano, Temple, TX, Nick Auger, Berkeley, CA, and Greg Auger, Portland, OR; nieces, Michelle (Patrick) Donovan, Gary, MN, Karin Flom, JeonJu, South Korea, Katie Auger, Seattle, WA, and Annie Auger, Bemidji; great nieces-and nephews, Danielle and Jonathan Willprecht, Gary, MN, James and Amelia DeLano, Birmingham, Meghan and Alyssa DeLano, Temple; and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his infant brother, John.
Visitation: Sunday, August, 21, 2011, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Dilworth.
Funeral Mass: Monday, August 22, 2011, at 10 AM, in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Dilworth.
