Thomas H. Novak died on Friday, December 16, 2005, at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, at the age of 54.
The son of Sylvester "Bud" and Janet (Brodina) Novak, he was born in Fargo, ND, on June 12, 1951. Tom grew up and received his education in Fargo, where he graduated from Shanley High School in 1969 and NDSU in 1974. He served in the US Army Reserve for six years.
On Sept. 21, 1974, Tom was united in marriage to Nancy Promersberger in Fargo, where they made their home.
For 10 years, Tom was a partner in H & H Associates, a general construction company. In 1979, Tom and Nancy acquired FM Bench Ad Company, which they ran for twenty years. In addition, they acquired Orange Julius in 1983, which they continue to own and operate.
Tom was an avid sailor, private pilot and experienced downhill skier. However, his two true passions in life were his deep personal faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior and his unwavering commitment to his wife and family.
In 1983, Tom was diagnosed with MS, a disease that took away many of his physical abilities. Despite the debilitating affects of MS, Tom continued to stay active in his church. He served as church chairman, a deacon and as chair of the building committe
