Thomas Stanley Anderson was born September 13, 1926, in Petersburg, ND, to Rev. Thomas and Anna (Bergee) Anderson. The family lived in a number of communities due to Rev. Anderson's calling. Thomas was raised in the Perley, MN, area and graduated from high school in Hendrum, MN.
Tom entered the US Navy on August 11, 1944, and served as a baker on transport ships in the Pacific during WW II. Upon his discharge on June 16, 1946, Tom returned to the area and enrolled at Concordia College, Moorhead, MN.
Tom was united in marriage to Mary Lou Bueide on October 2, 1948, in Fargo, ND, and he graduated the following year from Concordia College. Tom taught in Perham, MN, for two years and then moved to Moorhead. He began his insurance career with Western Adjustment, Fargo, ND, which later became General Adjustment Bureau.
With his career came several changes in residence. They lived in Mankato, MN, Milwaukee, WI, and finally Mount Prospect, IL, in 1964. Tom retired from G.A.B. in 1988. They continued to reside in Mt. Prospect until 1993, when they returned to the Fargo-Moorhead area. Tom died Wednesday, December 5, 2007, at his home in Moorhead.
Tom was a very organized and practical man. His philosophy of life was "whatever's right." He also loved sports and enjoyed watching sporting activities of all kinds.
Tom is lovingly survived by his wife of over fifty-nine years, Mary Lou; two daughters, Rebecca Hastad, at White Earth Lake, MN, and Virginia (Daniel) Donovan, Cincinnati, OH; six grandchildren, Jessica, Anne-Marye, Adrienne, Clifton, Caroline, and Stepha
Visitation for Tom will be Friday, December 7, 2007, from 5 - 7 PM, with a prayer service at 6:30 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
His funeral will be Saturday, December 8, 2007, at 11 AM, in Pontoppidan Lutheran Church, Fargo.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moorhead.
