Timothy W. Balzum

Timothy William Balzum was born on June 27, 1960, in Ada, MN, to Arvid and Dorothy (Kappes) Balzum, and was called home on Monday, September 9, 2013, at fifty-three years of age. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing.

Tim was a graduate of Moorhead (MN) High School. Throughout his life, he worked in sales and as a musician. Tim had a strong love for his sons, brothers and sisters, and music. Tim was blessed with a heart transplant in 2005, which provided him with eight years of additional life experiences.

Tim is survived by his four sons, Ashley Burns, Rochester, MN, Chase (Brittney) Balzum, Plainview, MN, Skylar Balzum, Byron, MN, and Timothy J. Balzum, Fargo, ND, and seven brothers and sisters, Randy (Denise) Balzum, Moorhead, Jeri (Carl) Melsness, Cheyenne, WY, Jeanne (Joseph) Schreiner, Wahpeton, ND, Connie Estenson, Phoenix, AZ, Charles Balzum, West Fargo, ND, Patrice (James) Amick, Kansas City, MO, and Dawn Pila, Fargo. He is also survived by 18 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family extends a special thanks to the staff of IMA, Essentia, Prairie Home Health Care and Hospice of Red River Valley. They would also like to extend a special thank you to Tim's friends who provided support and prayers.

There will be a Gathering of Friends Thursday, September 12, 2013, from 5 - 6:30 PM, with a Celebration of Life service at 6:30 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
