Tom A. Oliver, 86, of Dilworth, MN, died Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Sanford Palliative Care in Fargo, ND.
Tom Antonio Oliver was born March 23, 1927, in Dilworth, the son of Frank and Dominica (Perzichelli) Oliver. He was raised there and attended school before entering the U.S. Navy in 1945. He served until 1946 and upon his discharge returned to Dilworth.
On November 20, 1948, he was united in marriage to Audrey Hoaby in Moorhead. They established their home in Dilworth where Tom worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad. He later went to work for the Great Northern Railroad (now Burlington Northern/Santa Fe) as a switchman, retiring in 1981. During his active years on the railroad Tom also served as a Union Griever for 18 years.
Tom was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and at one time served on the Dilworth School Board for nine years.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Audrey; children, Victoria (Charles) Ritchie of Fort Mohave, AZ, Teresa (Curt) Gullickson of Broomfield, CO, and Marc (Diane) Oliveri of Hudson, WI; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; brother, Joe Oliveri of Fargo; sister, Anna Zeuli of Anaheim, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, John Pinsonneault; brothers, Frank Oliver and Louie Oliver; and sisters, Rachel Campbell and Mary Altobelli.
Visitation: Wednesday, 5 PM to 7 PM with a Prayer Service at 7 PM in Korsmo Funeral Service, Moorhead
Funeral Mass: Thursday, April 11, 2013, at 11:00 AM, in St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Dilworth.
Interment: St. Joseph's Catholic
