V. Neil Johnson, 90, of Moorhead, MN, was born May 9, 1918, in Sleepy Eye, MN, and passed away on April 4, 2009, in Davenport, Iowa, where he was evacuated due to the flood.
He was preceded in death by his wife of forty years, Naomi; a sister, Zelda (Henry); brothers, Glenn (Ester) and Dale (Beulah).
Neil is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Mary Bolstad. He is also survived by sons, Leon (Charlotte), Denis (Sylvia) and Dean (Nancy); grandchildren, Molly, David, Dane "Dana", Bret (Heidi), Mark (Kami), and Michael; and great-grandchildren, Per, Nissa, Gavin, Hailey, and Hayden.
Neil was a long-time farmer near Borup, MN, and a current resident of Moorhead and his beloved lake place on Long Lake.
Neil was appointed to the Wild Rice Watershed Board and was an active supporter of the Republican Party. He loved art, music and fishing. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Funeral Service: Thursday, April 9, 2009, at 11 AM, in Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Moorhead, with a visitation one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
