Venal J Kraemer

Venal J. Kraemer, 74, of Moorhead, MN, died Friday, May 15, 2015, in Sanford Health, Fargo, ND.

Venal was born on January 26, 1941, in Thief River Falls, MN, to Violet (Ramsey) and Aloysius Kraemer. He moved with his family to Moorhead and graduated from Moorhead High School in 1960. Venal was united in marriage to Connie Lou Olson on June 19, 1964, at Comstock Lutheran Church, Comstock, MN. They made their home in Moorhead, where they raised their children, Darin, Stacy, and Benjamin.

Venal worked as a bricklayer for a number of construction firms, beginning his career in 1961 and retiring in 2005. He was a master craftsman, and every project was done to perfection. His joy in life was spending time with his family and close friends. He made a lifetime of memories, the most special of which were the times spent camping, hunting, being with his children and grandchildren, and attending their activities and sporting events. Following his retirement, you could catch Venal either working in his yard, watching an episode or two of Gunsmoke, or simply relaxing around the house with family and their cat, Fancy. Venal had a wonderful, unique sense of humor that will be missed by all who knew him.

Venal is survived by his wife of 51 years, Connie (Olson) Kraemer; three children: Darin (Michelle) Kraemer, Moorhead, Stacy (Tony) Frink, Glyndon, MN, and Benjamin Kraemer, Moorhead; and six grandchildren, Kyle and Chantal Kraemer, and Hannah, Emily, Abby, and Chet Frink.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Gathering of Friends for Venal will be Tuesday, May 19, 2015, from 5 PM until 7 PM with a 6:30 PM Prayer Service, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

His Memorial Service will be Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at 11 AM, in Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Moorhead.
