Vernon J. Vosburg, 82, Moorhead, MN, died Saturday, January 22, 2011, at his home in Moorhead.
Vernon Jerome Vosburg was born February 25, 1928, in rural Enderlin, ND, to Walter and Gladys (Arne) Vosburg. He attended rural school and as a young man served in the US Army. Upon his discharge from the Army, he returned to Enderlin and on November 25, 1951, he married Pearlene Anderson in Webster, SD. They made their home in Ft. Ransom, ND, and in 1953, they moved to Fargo.
Vernon worked as a taxi driver, a landscaper, and for the city of Fargo as a foreman for the wastewater treatment plant. He retired from there after 42 years of dedicated service.
Vernon enjoyed reading western novels, completing puzzles, working outside and tinkering in the garage. He loved his family and they were very important to him.
He is survived by his wife, Pearlene; eight children, Karen Vosburg, Connie Payne, John (Dora) Vosburg, Kevin (Kathryn) Vosburg, Michael (Doreen) Vosburg, Daniel (Raylee) Vosburg, Janet (Lee) Bonn, and Rhonda (Richard) Donovan; two brothers, Gerald (Rose) Vosburg and Donald (Joan) Vosburg; fourteen grandchildren; an aunt, Kay Vosburg; and an uncle, Chet Vosburg. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private family service will be held.
