Victor E. Buth, 81, Papillion, Nebraska, formerly of Fosston, MN, passed away in Omaha, NE, on Sunday, April 20, 2008, following an extended illness.
Victor Emanuel Buth was born near Wolverton, MN, on Nov. 19, 1926 to William and Emma (Ruediger) Buth. He attended rural Minnesota schools, and later served in the U. S. Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict, receiving an honorable discharge in 1953.
Victor married Thelma Anderson in Breckenridge, MN, on July 15, 1953, and was blessed with five beautiful daughters. During this time, he farmed and worked in Breckenridge, holding various sales and managerial jobs, including Bronson Clothing, Smith Motors Inc., and Worner Rambler. He also served on the Breckenridge Police Department for a short period of time, and was elected as a Justice of the Peace and served in that capacity for eight years. In 1964, Victor moved with his family to Fosston, where he owned and operated Vic's Clothing for ten years. In 1974, he accepted a position as Assistant Vice President of the new Twin City Federal Savings and Loan Bank in Fosston, retiring in 1984.
In 1989, the couple moved to Detroit Lakes, MN, spending winters in Pharr, TX. Victor enjoyed the sunshine and beach, loved to fish and cherished many wonderful times with family and friends.
Victor will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ernest and Arnold; one sister, Beatrice Sprenger; and one infant daughter, Donna Mae. Victor is survived by his loving wife, Thelma, Papillion, NE; four daughters, Diane (James) McFarlane, Pearl City, HI, Sharon (Brad) Johnson, Omaha, Pam (Jeff) Erickson, West Fargo, ND, and Jennifer (Brandon) Bell, Omaha; four grandchildren, Chad and Angie Johnson, Robin Erickson, and McCartney Bell; one sister, Alice Anderson, Moorhead; and one brother, Louis Buth, Pelican Rapids, MN.
