Victor Wagner

Victor Wagner, 86, of Moorhead, MN, died Monday, January 16, 2017, in Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead.

Oscar Victor Wagner was born July 23, 1930, the son of Oscar and Mary (Claeys) Wagner, in Huntley, MN. He was raised on the family farm in Sterling Township and graduated from Huntley High School in 1949. After graduation, Victor joined the U.S. Navy in September of 1950. He served during the Korean Conflict as a Personnelman second class on the USS Norton Sound and USS Oriskany. Upon his discharge in July of 1954, Victor returned to southern Minnesota before moving to Moorhead, to attend Hanson Mechanical Trade School.

On January 9, 1956, he was united in marriage to Arlis L. Whaley in Winnebago, MN. They settled in Moorhead where Victor began working for the City of Moorhead as a heavy equipment operator until retiring in 1991. After retirement, he worked for Kuehl Farms of Glyndon until 2015. Arlis passed away February 16, 2016. Victor moved into Eventide on Eighth in December of 2016.

He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. Victor also enjoyed fishing and deer hunting.

Vic was a strong-willed amazing man. He was extremely outgoing and made an impact on everyone he met. He was a great father, grandfather and individual and will be greatly missed but not forgotten. His spirit will live through all of the lives he touched

Victor is survived by his daughter, Kathy Wagner, East Gull Lake, MN; son, Doug (Wanda) Wagner, Moorhead; four grandchildren, Ryan (Jessica) Bodell, Emily Rardin, Coleman (Bailey Stotts) Wagner, and Erica (Ben Peterson) Wagner; and one great-grandson, Taten Rardin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Arlis; and his brother, Albert.

A visitation for Victor will be Friday from 5 PM to 7 PM, with a Prayer Service at 7 PM in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

His Funeral Service will be Saturday, January 21, 2017, at 11 AM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
