Virginia E. Conyers, 93, Fargo, ND, passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at Eventide Lutheran Home, Moorhead, MN.
Virginia was born February 4, 1915, in Ottumwa, IA, to James L. and Mary (Sears) Erskine. She attended high school in Woodward, IA, and graduated from the American Institute of Business in Des Moines, IA. She worked several years at Travelers Insurance Company in Des Moines.
Virginia was united in marriage to Arthur Conyers on November 18, 1939, in Woodward. During WW II, Virginia worked at the munitions plant office in Ankeny, IA, and also in the office of Kaiser Shipyards in Oakland, CA. Virginia and Art returned to the West Des Moines, IA, area in 1946. The family moved to Fargo in 1963.
Virginia was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star and was also a member of First Methodist Church, Fargo. Virginia enjoyed crafts and was an accomplished artist. During their retirement years, Virginia and Art enjoyed travel around the country.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Arthur; three sons, Bob (Becky), Doug (Donna), and Lanny (Renae) Conyers, all of Fargo; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral for Virginia will be Saturday, June 21, 2008, at 1 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead.
Visitation will be one hour before the funeral.
Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
