Virginia was born January 15, 1932, in Pelican Rapids, MN to Edwin and Martha (Hanson) Stephenson. They moved to Hawley, MN, where Virginia attended school. She graduated from high school in 1950.
On May 26, 1951, Virginia married Roy Haug in Hawley. They moved to Moorhead in 1956. Virginia worked as a secretary at NDSU and the VA Hospital in Fargo, ND, until she retired. Throughout their married life, Virginia and Roy enjoyed square dancing, card parties, camping and the cabin at East Silent Lake. She loved to bake and had many coffee parties with neighbors.
Virginia is survived by her children, Larry (Diane) Haug, Laurie (Wayne) Holweger, and Ryan (Tasha) Haug; grandchildren, Stephanie (Brandon) Stout, Shane (Melanie) and Kelly Haug, and Nicole and Brandon Holweger; great-grandchildren, Bryce (Sierra) and Gaige Haug, Savanna and Elsa Haug, Jenna Stout, Tyler Lemke, Hunter, Drake and Presley "Butter" Holweger
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, and sister, Eunice Tobin.
She was known for her sweet smile and loving spirit.
Visitation will be from 10 - 11 AM, followed by a funeral at 11 AM, Wednesday, October 6, 2021, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Burial will take place in Gran Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hawley.
