Virginia J. Brainerd

Virginia June Brainerd was born September 10, 1932, to George and Mary (Wambach) Dalen, in Georgetown, MN. She attended school in Perley, MN. Virginia worked various jobs until her retirement from NDSU Food Service.
Virginia was united in marriage to William "Bill" Brainerd, November 30, 1950, in Moorhead, where they made their home until moving to their home in Fargo, ND.
Virginia loved to spend her free time with family and friends at their lake property on Trowbridge Lake, near Vergas, MN. She always loved it when she would get together with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren for special occasions and holidays. She could never pass up the chance to "shake a leg" whenever possible.
With her family by her side, Virginia died Thursday, April 21, 2005, in MeritCare Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, at seventy-two years of age.
Virginia is lovingly survived by her five children, Jackie (Fred) Fritel, Valley City, ND, Dale (Nancy), Doug (Tami), Dan (Cindi), and Mary (Dave) Chapman, all Fargo; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; six sisters, Elsie Jacobson, Fargo, Georgia (Merle) Taylor, Jean Boothroyd, Rose (Nelmer) Eberhardt, and Evelyn (Vernon) Kroshus, all Moorhead, and Violet Stein, Pelican Rapids, MN; two brothers, George Dalen, Moorhead, and General (Gail) Dalen, Kansas City, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-four years, Bill; and her beloved daughter, Julie, who was so very special to her. She was her precious little angel on earth who now welcomes her "home" forever. Virgini
Visitation for Virginia will be Sunday, April 24, 2005, from 5 - 8 PM, with a prayer service at 7 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead. Her funeral will be Monday, April 25, 2005, at 1 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Riverside Ceme
