Wade Charles Gorman was born March 21, 1922, in St. Paul, MN, to Edward and Ethyl (Wade) Gorman. When Wade was very young, the family moved to Fargo, ND, where he was raised and received his education.
Wade spent much of his working years in the painting and decorating business. In Fargo, Wade worked for Braaten Decorating and Roggensack Decorating. He worked for Kent Freeman in Detroit Lakes, MN and for Rudy Endressee in Butte, MT. Wade was married to Clara Johnson at one time and she preceded him in death.
Wade owned and operated his own businesses as well. The Paint and Decorating Store was located in West Fargo, ND, and he later had a store in Moorhead, MN. He partnered with Bell Evanson in Commercial Services, and he later owned and operated GEM Decorators with his wife, Marilyn. Wade and Marilyn Hanson were married March 16, 1975, in Blaine, MN.
Wade very much enjoyed music and played both the guitar and harmonica. He was good with his hands and created many things as a woodworker. In his younger years, Wade drove the "8-ball" racecar at the Glyndon Speedway. More recently, Wade enjoyed bowling. For many years Wade served as a custodian at First Presbyterian Church in Moorhead.
Wade died Monday, December 10, 2007, in MeritCare Palliative Care Unit, Fargo, at eighty-five years of age.
Wade is survived by his wife, Marilyn, Moorhead; son, Ron Gorman, Virginia; two daughters, Gayle Gensler, Texas, and Denise Wilson, Moorhead; three step-sons, Kevin (Holly) Hanson, Austin, TX, John (Sheri) Hanson, Dilworth, MN, and Mark Hanson, Moorhead;
The memorial service for Wade will be Saturday, December 15, 2007, at 10 AM, in First Presbyterian Church, Moorhead.
