Warren Elwood Christensen, 92, of Detroit Lakes, passed away peacefully at Emmanuel Nursing Home on Sunday, May 19, 2024, under the care of Ecumen and Hospice of the Red River Valley. Warren was born in Montevideo, MN. He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. After the war, he met the love of his life, Hannah. Hannah and Warren were soon married. He spent many years as a traveling watch salesman.
Warren was a talented horologist and used his skills at Camelot Jewelers in Detroit Lakes. Hannah and Warren were long-time members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes. He loved golfing, Florida, squirrels, and drinking coffee at McDonald's, but above all else, Warren was a dedicated father and grandfather.
Warren leaves behind his brother, Harvey Christensen; a daughter, Penny Morris; six grandchildren, Michael Given, Jonathan Given, Bryan (Johanna) Christensen, Amanda (Justin) Fetzer, Nathaniel (Chandra) Christensen, and Mariah (Jamie) Soderling; and six great-grandchildren, Archer Fetzer, Gunner Fetzer, Bryleigh Soderling, Jude Soderling, Sawyer Christensen, and Layla Christensen. He also leaves his close friend, Karmen Lewis.
Warren will reunite with his beloved wife, Hannah, and son, Bruce, in heaven.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held at 1pm on Thursday, August 15, 2024, in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery – Camp Ripley, Little Falls, MN.
