Warren Halleen

Warren J. Halleen, age 84, of Fargo, ND, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, in MeritCare Hospital in Fargo.


Warren John Halleen, the son of John and Lydia (Chelgren) Halleen, was born in Minneapolis, MN, on October 13, 1920. He grew up in south Minneapolis and in Edina, MN, where he graduated from high school. Warren attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.


During WW II, Warren served his country in the US Marine Corps. He served overseas in the Pacific, saw extensive action and participated in a number of island landings.


After his discharge from the Marines, Warren returned to Minneapolis, where he attended and graduated from North Central Bible College.


On August 23, 1947, Warren was united in marriage to Marjorie Hansen in Minneapolis. Warren was ordained a minister of the Assemblies of God. The couple served in a number of communities in northwestern Minnesota and eastern North Dakota. They later lived in the state of Washington.

In 1957, they moved to Fargo, where they had lived since. Warren worked for a number of years for the Assembly of God Church in Fargo.


Warren is survived by his wife, Marjorie, Fargo; a son, Jonathan (Janet) Halleen, Savage, MN; and a granddaughter, Emily. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marvis.


Visitation: Tuesday, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM,
Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, and
one hour before the funeral, at the church.


Funeral service: Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004, at 2:00 PM,
First Assembly of God
Fargo, North Dakota.


Burial: Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Fort Snelling, MN.
