Wayne L. Allen

July 29, 1931 — March 3, 2005

Wayne Lawrence Allen, the son of Hilmer and Viola Allen, was born at Crookston, MN, on July 29, 1931. He grew up and received his education in the Fertile-Beltrami, MN, area, where he graduated from high school. He attended Dakota Business College in Fargo, ND, for two years.
Wayne served his country in the US Army. After his discharge he attended and graduated from North Dakota State University in Fargo.


On August 10, 1957, Wayne was united in marriage to Doris Johnson, in Fargo, where they made their home. Wayne worked for American Life Insurance Company in Fargo. In 1988, Wayne and Doris moved to Urbandale, Iowa, and Wayne continued to work for American Life in their Des Moines, Iowa, office. In 1991, Wayne retired as executive vice president of American Life Insurance Company. He later owned and operated a Mail Box Store, until he fully retired in July of 1999.
Since February of 2000, Wayne and Doris have spent winters in Mesa, AZ, where Wayne could continue to enjoy the game of golf. Wayne died at his home in Mesa on Thursday, March 3, 2005, at the age of 73.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; a son, Brent (Sue) Allen, and their children, Ryan and Rachelle, of Fargo; two daughters, Diane (Dean) Jensen of Frisco, Texas and Amy (Kelly) Schneider, and their daughter, Madison, of Des Moines, Iowa; a sister, Joyce Woidtke, Roseau, MN; along with a host of relatives from Crookston, MN
Visitation: Wednesday, from 5:30 PM until 8:00 PM, in Korsmo Funeral Chapel, Moorhead, and one hour before the funeral, at the church.

Funeral service: Thursday, March 10, 2005, at 10:30 AM, in Bethel Evangelical Free Church, Fargo, North Dakota.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo, ND.
