Wendell Vernel Stephenson was born August 31, 1965, the son of Wendell and Cecilia (Henry) Stephenson, in Grand Forks ND. He graduated from Glyndon High School in Glyndon, MN, and then settled in Fargo where he worked at Hornbacher's.
On November 11, 1990, he was united in marriage to Virginia Neil in Fargo. They established their home in Moorhead, where Wendell worked at Cash Wise Foods and Walmart. He enjoyed walking and watching movies.
Wendell was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Moorhead. He had a very deep faith that was a very important part of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia; sister-in-law, Laurel (Ron) Johnson of Moorhead; brothers-in-law, William (Patricia ) Neil, Fort Wayne, IN, Gerard (Cindi) Neil, East Grand Forks, MN, Kevin (Mary) Neil, Carver, MN, and Clement (Donna) Neil, Kirkland, WA; brothers, John (Debbie) Stephenson, West Fargo, ND, Gerald (Carla) Stephenson, Dickinson, ND, William Stephenson, Fargo, and Joseph Anderson, Iowa; sisters, Betty (Don) Neese, Alabama, Carol (Joe) Wilson, Dickinson, ND and Veronica "Roni" (Joel) Nix, Moorhead, MN; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Elizabeth Neil, and brother, David Stephenson.
Visitation: One hour prior to Memorial Mass.
Memorial Mass: Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at 11:00 AM, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Moorhead.
Interment: St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Moorhead
