Wilma Bernice Ambuehl, age 86, of Moorhead, MN died Monday, May 14th, 2012 in her home. She was surrounded by her family while under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley of North Dakota.
Wilma Bernice Moe was born on March 18, 1926 to Halvor and Esther (Boerger) Moe, in Thief River Falls, MN. She was raised in the Ada, MN area; where she graduated from high school. Wilma was a member of the first graduating class of Moorhead Technical College.
Wilma married Clayton "Tuffy" Ambuehl, on November 14, 1945 in Grand Forks, ND. They resided in Ada and Downer before settling in Moorhead, MN. Wilma worked at a number of jobs in Moorhead before serving two terms as the Clay County Recorder from 1982 to 1990.
Wilma was a proud member of Soroptimist International of Moorhead for 30 years and remained an honorary member until her death. Her Soroptimist sisters will always have a place in mom's heart and our family's memories.
Wilma also was a longtime member of The Lutheran Church of Christ the King, participating in many activities. She loved Sarah Circle and gathering with her fellow- members and thoroughly enjoyed her involvement as a member of the Library Board.
In her leisure time, she enjoyed her crossword puzzles, crafts, and reading. She also was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings, Twins, and any team that played against the Green Bay Packers.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Marwood; son-in-law, Ron Jones; and a great-granddaughter, Ellie Joy Iverson.
Visitation for Wilma will be Monday, May 21, 2012 , from 5 - 7 PM , with a prayer service at 7 PM at The Lutheran Church of Christ the King, Moorhead .
The funeral will be Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 10:30 AM also at the church.
